How to Obtain Eternal Life

For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh.
The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years,
Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
(Psalm 90:9,10,12)


The heart of wisdom is eternal life.  Friend, if you want to live forever, you must believe in Jesus. Here are seven steps which will lead you to the door of eternal life:

1.    God loves you.
            For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son , that whoever believes in Him should
        not preish but have everlasting life.(John 3:16)

2.    You are in danger.
            For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
            For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall we evil dwell with You. (Psalm 5:4)

3.    Sin's reward is death.
            For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

4.   God gave us a Savior.
            But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
            (Romans 5:8)

5.    Receive Jesus as your personal Savior.
            But as many as received Him, to then He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in
        His name. (John 1:12)

6.    Believers have eternal life.
            And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the
       Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:11,12)

7.    Accept Him now.
            Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion. (Hebrews 3:7b, 8a)

Prayer of Decision

Dear God,
I know that I have not been following you. I even denied your existence.  I am a selfish sinner.  Thank you for loving me anyway.  I believe that you sent your Son Jesus to save me.  I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins.  I believe that He came back to life conquering sin and death to give me eternal life.  He is my Savior!

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
