THE LOVE OF A GRANDFATHER
I
lost much time
Trying
to wonder why
Why
this would happen
What
is my crime?
A
position never to be filled,
No
one would ever be so skilled
To
be the one I love.
My
grandfather, my angel from up above;
He
teaches me things,
He
took me underneath his wings.
Nothing
will ever measure up to the love he brings
I
think back to all the good things he brought
I
loved the days we would fly kites
And
days he’d attempt teaching me to ride my bike.
Origami
is a special thing between us too
We’d
fold those paper cranes until they flew
My
love for his has grown and grown
And
knowing his love for me will always stay
Leads
me to think I’ll never be alone.
On
hot summer days, we’d bond
Singing
old Chinese songs
We’d
admire the beauty of life
As
we ate oranges underneath a big tree
The
cool breeze would embrace us, then let us free.
I
remember a time my grandfather held me during a parade;
Ants
leaped from the tree to me hair
Yet,
he still held me close.
The
love of my grandfather affects me greatly,
And
I’ve seen what he has done for me lately
When I had my fears, when I’d have my tears.
He’d
always appear.
My
grandfather was always there
To
support me, to love me, to teach me, to hold me
And
for that, I am so grateful to the Lord
For
the time he gave me with him.
Everything
he has taught me has made me what I am today
He
touched us all with his wisdom, his kindness,
His patience, his cleverness and mostly his love.
My
grandfather always had his messages spoken in a poem,
He’d
always be proud to say I got the skill from him
While
I rhymed simple words like simple words like cat and hat
This particular poem,
Is
a thank you message for all he has done for me,
As
well as a message to show my eternal love towards my grandpa
