TO THE NEEDY, OUR SAVIOR GIVE

A man came to me today;

He said,” I need some clothing; I need some bread.”

He said,” I have no home, no place to lay my head.”

I gave him some clothing;

I gave him some bread;

I took him home and gave him my bed.

But, within my heart I was not satisfied;

I had not told him Christ was crucified.

I had not told him that for his sins Christ died.

I must give him clothing;

I must give him bread;

But I must, also, tell him

Christ rose from the dead.

He rose to live that we, too, might live.

Oh, let us be merciful…

Let us to the needy our Savior give.
